2013, a good year!

Baja California

2013 came to its end. A very challenging year full of emotions, up and downs, competitions, and new experiences. I feel very fortunated to have travelled as much as I did and been able to discover new places, actually dream places!! I started the year training in Baja California, one of the most wild and beautiful places I´ve  ever been, I´ll miss my family in Playa Central!! Then Egypt for almost 2 months, coachin and compeating in the Africans. China twice!! for the KTA and the Worlds. Sardina for a week in Italy and then I crossed the Atlantic for the North Americans in San Francisco and the South Americans in Bonair. Crissy Field, in San Francisco, definitely a place all sailor should sail at least once in his life!! Loved the city, the people and the good vibes around! Back to Spain for the Spanish Championship in Isla Cristina, Huelva. Almost a month living in my van started there. Portugal was next, chasing the wind, I couldn´t kite a lot but surfing was fun!! Italy came next for the Europeans. I have lots of great memories from that trip.

And then August, it started good, in Benasque but then the "black" day arrived... tore ligaments...tears, pain and frustration... It seemed as I was gonna miss the Worlds in November and the rest of the season...but I had a lot of professional support that helped me recover fast, but also the good vibes of friends and family helped me to keep fighting. Thank you.

Also I enjoyed a couple of new jobs which opened a whole new world  in front of me!

September arrived, time to go to Brazil!! Best place to slowly start  riding again.

November, time to fly to China for the Worlds, yes I said the Worlds!! I made it, I recovered fast enough to be able to ride, not in my best shape but stoked to be there! And as I was already in China, why not flying to Australia?? Melbourne, a great city with crazy weather and Perth, just loved the Western Coast!!

The good moments definitely were bigger than the difficult ones in 2013, but nobody said that chasing your dreams was an easy thing to do!!

All the best for 2014 guys, I wish that all your dreams come true!

El 2013 llegó a su fin. Un año lleno de retos, emociones, subidones y bajones, competiciones y nuevas experiencias. Me siento muy afortunada de haber podido viajar tanto como lo he hecho, han sido todos sitios de ensueño! Empecé el año entrenando en Baja California, uno de los sitios más salvajes y bonitos que conozco, echaré de menos mi família de Playa Central este año. Luego Egipto por casi dos meses, haciendo de entrenadora y finalmente compitiendo en el Campeonato Africano. China dos veces!! para la KTA y luego el Mundial a final de año. Una semanita en Cerdeña, Italia y luego crucé el Atlántico para competir en los Norte Americanos en San Francisco y los Sud Americanos en Bonaire. Crissy Field, en San Francisco, es sin duda uno de esos sitios que todo regatista debería navegar al menos una vez en su vida! Me encantó la ciudad, su gente y las buenas vibraciones que desprende! Vuelata a España para el Campeonato de España en Isla Cristina, Huelva. Ahí empezó el practicamente un mes viviendo en la furgoneta y viajando. De Isla Cristina a Portugal, persiguiendo el viento y las olas. No pude hacer mucho kite pero lo pasé genial con las olas! Italia fue lo siguiente para los Europeos, muy buenos recuerdos de ese viaje.

Y luego Agosto, empezó muy bien, en Benasque haciendo alguna que otra excursión, pero luego el día fatídico llegó... ligamientos a tomar viento... lágrimas, dolor y mucha frustración... Parecía que me iba a perder el Mundial y el resto de la temporada...pero tuve la suerte de contar con mucha ayuda y profesionales que me ayudaron en mi recuperación, pero también los buenos deseos de amigos y la família que siempre está ahí, fue clave para ayudarme a seguir luchando y no hundirme. Gracias.

También tuve la suerte de que me cayeran como del cielo dos nuevos trabajos de los cuales aprendí mucho y han abierto un nuevo mundo delante de mi!
Septiembre llegó, tiempo de ir para mi querido Brasil! Sin duda el mejor sitio para poco a poco empezar a navegar de nuevo.

Noviembre, tiempo de volar para China para el Mundial, sí, dije el Mundial!! Me recuperé a tiempo contra todo pronostico! No estaba al 100% ni mucho menos pero almenos estaba ahí! Y ya que ya estaba en China, porque no llegar hasta Australia?? jeje. Melbourne, una ciudad encantadora llena de vida nocturna pero con un tiempo loco como no he visto en ningún otro lugar. Y Perth... la costa Oeste me enamoró por completo!
Los buenos momentos definitivamente superaron los malos en 2013, pero nadie dijo que perseguir tus sueños era cosa fácil!
Os deseo todo lo mejor para 2014 y que todos vuestros sueños se cumplan!
