Life in Cape Hatteras

I've been here for 3 weeks now, and I have to say that the more I'm here, the more I like this place. The spot is awesome! Amazing flat water, fun waves and the best set up of sliders and kickers I've ever seen!
This is my first time in Cape Hatteras and I didn't know what to expect as this is a very popular spot in North America, but when I got here I realized this is a world class spot! I love this place!!
It's been crazy hanging up with all the LF team and with legends like Mauricio, Jason and Moe. They really push me to ride hard and motivate me to try new things as hitting sliders and kickers!!
Now I have the motivation to go back to Europe and do more of that!!

Getting to Cape Hatteras (US)

Last week I spent more hours in the airport than in my home!!
I've been traveling quite a lot lately. After Podersdorf I went home for one day before taking the next flight to Cape Hatteras, in North Carolina (US).
It was a very loooong trip as all airports were with delays and cancelled flights due to the volcano ashes.

My flight departed 1h late from Barcelona but the big surprise was that the flight lasted 2 hours more than expected as we had to go up to Amsterday to avoid the ashes. Once we landed in Newark airport we had to wait inside the plane for 40 min and after that, add 1 more hour to get through the customs. Obviously I lost my connection flight.
I met James Boulding, LF team mate, in the same flight to Norfolk, and the rest of the team happen to have also delays in their flights, so we all got to the final destination about the same time ;)
Two hours driving by car and we got to the amazing Liquid Force house in Cape Hatteras.

European Championship Podersdorf (Austria)

I just got back yesterday from wonderful Austria!! We had there the first stop of the Kitesurf European Tour, and I'm just supper happy for my results, both in freestyle and Course Racing.
I'd lide to give special thanks to Ronald and Julie for "adopting" me and treating me sooo good. Thank you guys!!
In freestyle, althought it is not my priority at all, I ended up in 4th place. I have to say that the conditions were not easy at all, as the first day, when the single elimination was done, the wind was super gusty and sometime with more than 30knots.

My great surprise was in Course Racing were I finished in 2nd place, after being 3rd the whole event. On the last day of competition, they decided to do the skippers meeting at 7am and we had the firts announcement at 8. Very light wind came but that gave me one winning race and a 2nd place on the last one, so I got a final 2nd place!!
The only bad thing about all, was that a jetski run into my 6m kite and they hat to cut the lines to relise it...
On the other hand, I'm gonna miss the next stop of the Tour as tomorrow I'm leaving to Cape Hatteras (US) for one month for a fotoshoting with all the Liquid Force Team. I'm really excited about it and I just hope Barcelona Airport will be opened tomorrow (volcano aishes). I won't miss indeed, the competition in Germany (Sylt) end of June!
So CAPE HATTERAS...here I come!!!!
