The forecast gave rain for the following three days but instead today we woke up with south wind, so we decide to go to the other side of the island, to Kihei, about 20 minutes driving from Haiku, were we live.
It is definitely a freestyle spot with the flattest water I've seen since I'm here. The water though it is not the blue-turqoise transparent one that we're used here in the other side of the island. It is more like brownish so you cannot see the bottom. To be honest, I was a little paranoid about sharks, as I heard they're more likely to be in turbulent waters.
I kited with the GoPro on my Bern helmet trying to get a few shots from the inside but the new SD 32GB we bought seems as has some malfunction and lost almost all the shots... Fortunately more east winds to come. Keep tuned!
Hoy ha sido otro día de viento inesperado. Es increíble como cambia la previsión meteorológica en pocas hora. Daban tres días de lluvia y en cambio nos hemos levantado con viento de sur, poco usual. Por eso nos hemos desplazado hasta Kihei, al otro lado de la isla, a unos 20 min. de dónde vivimos en Kahalui. Es un spot de agua plana aunque las aguas son turbulentas, nada que ver con las transparentes aguas turquesas del otro lado de la isla. La verdad es que me he emparanoiado un poco con el tema de los tiburones porqué he oído que abundan más en aguas turbulentas.
He navegado con la GoPro en mi super casco Bern, del que estoy enamorada por lo cómodo que es, porque quería sacar imágenes desde dentro del agua, pero la tarjeta nueva SD parece ser que ha salido defectuosa y se han perdido casi todas las imágenes. Por suerte todavía nos quedan muchos días y esperamos tener algún otro día con vientos del este. Seguid conectados!
