Here you have my latest video "Discovering Perú". I loved that place, for me the best place for waves I have been so far.  I just wish it was a right breaking point as it was my first time ever on left waves ;) It was perfect to train switch thought!

Aquí os dejo mi último video "Descubriendo Perú". Me ha encantado ese sitio, para mi el mejor lugar de olas que he estado hasta ahora. Ojalá fueran olas de derecha que es mi lado bueno! Pero bueno, ha sido perfecto para entrenar el otro lado; ha sido la primera vez que navegaba con olas de izquierda ;)

Machu Pichu

So this is the end of my trip in Perú. Three amazing weeks. Today I've just visited one of the 7 Wonders of the World, the Machu Pichu. It is a really nice place. I was not sure I would be able to climb to the top because of my knee injury, but everything is prepared for all ages tourists, so I had no problem. Actually, the views are really nice but nothing to envy to "Montserrat" in Catalonia or "Angkor Ruins" in Cambodia.

Now, waiting for the train to Ollantaytambo, then a bus to Cuzco, spend the night there and tomorrow morning plane to Lima and from there back to Fortaleza via Rio de Janeiro.

Bueno, pues este es el final de mi viaje por Perú. Tres maravillosas semanas. Hoy hemos visitado una de las 7 Maravillas del Mundo, el Machu Pichu. Es un lugar muy bonito sin duda. No estaba segura de poder llegar a la cima debido a mi lesión de rodilla, pero todo está super preparado para turistas de todas las edades, por lo que no tuve problema alguno. En realidad las vistas son muy bonitas pero no tiene nada que envidiar a por ejemplo a "Monserrat" en Catalunya, o a las "Ruinas de Angkor" en Camboya.

Ahora estoy esperando el tren para Ollantaytambo, luego bus hasta Cuzco, pasaremos la noche ahí y mañana por la mañana avión hasta Lima y de ahí otra vez de vuelta a Fortaleza vía Rio de Janeiro.

Good news on my knee injury

Yesterday I could finally get an orthopedic physician check my knee that luckily was staying at my same hostel and I got the best news I could get, I didn't break the ligaments, the diagnostic was sprain ligaments. But I should get it properly checked asap. 

Today I got back to Lima after 20h by bus, sweetest trip ever, VIP bus and 14h sleeping in a row (I guess that was the pain killer pill I took). I bought a nice ligament knee brace here that really helps.

Tomorrow I'm heading to Cuzco and Aguas Calientes according to the initial plan of visiting Machu Pichu, not sure I'll be able to get up there though...

Ayer por fin conseguí que un traumatólogo me visitara, por suerte se alojaba en mi mismo hostal, y me dio la mejor de las noticias que podía darme, no tengo rotura de ligamentos sino esguince. Pero igualmente me dijo que debería mirar en cuanto pueda para que no queden secuelas.

Hoy hemos vuelto a Lima después de 20horas de bus, el mejor viaje nunca, autobús VIP y 14h durmiendo del tirón (supongo que fue la pastilla que me tomé para el dolor). Me he comprado una rodillera que me va muy bien y me ayuda a sujetar la rodilla.

Mañana vamos para Cuzco y Aguas Calientes según el plan inicial para visitar el Machu Pichu, aunque no estoy del todo segura que pueda llegar hasta arriba...

Enjoying Perú but injured at the end of the trip...

Time flies out here! I can't believe I've been in Perú already for two weeks!! I just love this place. 

We've had amazing conditions of waves and wind everyday. Wind picks up around 10-11am and stays until 4pm. Temperature is ok during the day but a bit chilly at nights and the water is super cold as well, so you'll need a winter wetsuit to get into the water.

I forgot how much I loved playing ping-pong!!

Now I guess it's time to do the "gringo" and visit Machu Pichu, it is just unbelivable expensive to get up there though... So one minute I decide to go, the next minute I change my mind... ;) I may finally decide that at "heads and tails", haha

Ok, last minute news, today was my last session in the water and I just injured my knee...still don't know how bad it is gonna be but I guess I'm gonna be out of the water a few days... Thanks for the support I got from many of you so far!! I really appreciate that!!

El tiempo vuela aquí! No me puedo creer que ya hayan pasado dos semanas!! Simplemente me encanta este lugar. Hemos tenido unas condiciones increíbles de olas y viento. El viento entra sobre las 10-11 de la mañana y dura hasta las 4 de la tarde. La temperatura es buena durante el día pero refresca al atardecer y el agua está muy fría por lo que necesitas un buen neopreno.

Ahora es tiempo de ir a hacer el "guiri" y visitar el Machu Pichu, aunque es increíble lo caro que es llegar hasta ahí...un minuto decidimos ir, al siguiente cambiamos de opinión... ;) Al final igual lo decidimos a cara o cruz, jeje

Ok, información de última hora, hoy en la última sesión de kite antes de irme al Machu Pichu me he lesionado la rodilla...todavía no sé lo grave que será pero creo que estaré fuera del agua unos cuantos días... Muchas gracias por todos los ánimos que me habéis mandado hasta ahora, significa mucho para mi!!

Mancora

I just left Mancora this morning to go to Lobitos, a waves spot 1 hour and a half south. I spent 3 nights in Máncora and I just loved the place. Samana Chakra is the perfect place to relax and recover after the long trip to get there.

The taxi driver who drove me to Lobitos, Francisco, was a very interesting guy on his 60's, son of an italian consul, who did his university degree in Barcelona, and has lived all over the world. Professor of sociology in one university in Perú and don't ask me how, he ended up as taxi driver in Máncora...

So well, now in Lobitos, at the end of the world, in the middle of nowhere ;)

I'm really excited to get into the water tomorrow. The breakpoint looks awesome and it's just a few hundred meters from Casa Nacho, a friendly surfer place ideal for backpackers who are looking for cheap accomodation.

Hoy dejamos Máncora para ir hasta Lobitos, un spot de olas a una hora y media hacia el sud. Pasamos 3 noches en Máncora y me encantó el lugar. Samana Chakra es el sitio perfecto para relajarse y recuperarse después del largo viaje.

El taxista que nos ha llevado hasta Lobitos, Francisco, era un personaje de unos 60 años muy interesante; hijo de consul italiano, estudió en la universidad en Barcelona y ha vivido por casi todas las partes del mundo. Profesor de sociologia turística en una universidad de Perú, no me preguntéis como acabó de taxista en Máncora...

Y bueno, ahora estamos en Lobitos, en el fin del mundo, en el medio de la nada ;)

Estoy muy ansiosa por navegar mañana. El pico tiene una pinta asombrosa y está a tan solo unos cientos de metros de Casa Nacho, un pequeño albergue surfero ideal para mochileros que esten buscando alojamiento barato.

After taking two flights and a whole night of no sleeping I made it to Lima. Now I'm on a bus on my way to Mancora. The bus is quite nice, a V.I.P. one with wide seats, food and acceptable internet onboard, so no complains at all. 19 hours ahead before reaching Mancora. The best way to know the country. I think I'll love this place!!

Después de dos vuelos y una noche entera sin dormir por fin llegué a Lima. Ahora estoy en un bus de camino a Máncora; 19h es lo que me separan de mi destino final. El autocar está muy bien, es VIP y te dan comida, asientos super anchos e incluso internet! La mejor manera de conocer el país! Creo que Perú me va a encantar!!

I'm so excited about this trip!! I've been wanting to go to Perú for a long time but never had the chance or the flight was way too expensive...but this time I just found a super cheap flight, well, they did ;) thanks InfoExpress Flights!! I can't believe I'll be there mañana!! can't wait to ride one of the longest waves on earth!

Tengo tantas ganas de hacer este viaje!! Hace siglos que quería ir a Perú pero nunca habían cuadrado las cosas o el vuelo era demasiado caro... pero esta vez por fin he encontrado un vuelo super barato, bueno, jeje, ellos lo han encontrado por mi ;) gracias InfoExpress Flights!! No me puedo creer que mañana estaré ahí! Me muero de ganas de poder surfear una de las olas más largas del planeta!
